Booklet for the 60th anniversary of the 1st MWF (Poljot), 1989 – Vneshtorgizdat

The roots of the watch brand “Poljot-International” date back to the 1930s, when the “First State Watch Factory” was founded in Moscow. In 1961, after the flight of the first citizen of the earth, Yuri Gagarin, into space, the watches produced by the factory were given the designation “Poljot” (the flight).

In 1992, the watch distribution company “Poljot-V GmbH” was founded in Frankfurt am Main (Germany), in which a new watch brand “Poljot-International” was founded in 1994 under the leadership of its managing director, Alexander Shorokhov. The newly founded brand “Poljot-International” continued the Russian traditions of the “Poljot” brand on the one hand, but on the other hand followed a fundamentally different development path: the use of high-quality materials for watch making, the creation of independent contemporary design, high quality assembly work and strict and systematic quality control.

Amfibia Lady First – CWF Chistopol watch factory (RU+EN) ЧЧЗ

Amfibia Lady First – CWF Chistopol watch factory (RU+EN) ЧЧЗ

In 1967, the first Amphibian snorkeling watch was made at the Vostok Chistopol watch factory, which became a landmark object of that era. Professional sailors, divers and submariners chose the Amphibian watch for its simplicity and reliability. Trouble-free operation at a depth of up to 200 meters in conditions of significant temperature changes, in any aggressive environment – the Amphibian mechanical watch withstood extreme overloads and shocks. These were the requirements.

Specifically by order of the Russian Navy, a military modification of the Amphibian watch was produced, and tests were carried out during fleet exercises on the North Sea. The submarine lay at the bottom at a depth of 120-130 meters, simulating an accident. The brigade of rescue divers who took part in the rescue of people was equipped with a new Amphibian watch. Tests-exercises, as close as possible to combat, were successful.

In 1975, the Amphibian watch visited space on the Soyuz-17 spacecraft and the Salyut-4 space orbital station. The watch was part of the equipment of the station engineer G.M. Grechko.

The body and bracelet of the Amphibian watch are made of stainless steel. The waterproof case is capable of withstanding water pressure at depths of up to 200 meters. Accurate and visual indication is provided by luminous arrows, clock marking of the dial, the starting point of a rotating bezel, a durable and transparent organic glass lens. Some watches of this collection are equipped with a polyurethane strap that smoothly and reliably skirts the wrist.

Amfibia 20ХХ – CWF Chistopol watch factory (ЧЧЗ)

In 1967, in the USSR, the first Amfibia watch was made at the Vostok Chistopol watch factory, which became a landmark object of that era. Professional sailors, divers and submariners chose Amfibia watches for their simplicity and reliability. Fail-safe operation at a depth of up to 200 m in conditions of significant temperature changes, in any aggressive environment – the Amfibia mechanical watch withstood extreme overloads and shocks. These were the requirements.

By the way, specifically by order of the USSR Navy, the Vostok plant produced a military modification of the Amfibia watch, and the watch was tested during fleet exercises on the North Sea. The submarine lay at the bottom at a depth of 120-130 meters, simulating an accident. A team of divers who took part in the rescue of people were equipped with a new Amfibia watch. Both tests and exercises were successful.

In 1975, the Amfibia watch visited space on the Soyuz-17 spacecraft and the station Salute-4.

Amfibia watches were also tested in less exotic, but no less visual ways. They were driven over by heavy vehicles, banged on with a hammer, but the Amfibia watch continued to show the exact time. The accuracy of the Amfibia watch owes much to the Vostok mechanism, and the reliability of the shockproof device of the balance unit owes to the heart of the mechanical watch.

Organized in 1942, the Vostok Chistopol Watch Factory continues to steadily follow traditions – all models of mechanisms have the so-called Swiss anchor descent system, steel anchor wheels and forks, support on ruby stones, a winding clock spring made of special precision alloys. Having collected all the best of the world experience in watch production, the Vostok Chistopol watch factory produces products that can rightfully be called real Russian watches.
